‘Do We Do The Right Thing?’ – Fundraiser Evening
BeFrank and New Diorama present an evening of entertainment, discussion and debate on Tuesday 4th November at 7.30pm, in support of BeFrank’s upcoming tour for British Forces in Germany 2015.
The ticket includes a performance of Do We Do The Right Thing? with a free programme, followed by a post-show panel discussion and a special guest speaker (to be announced). To round off the evening, enjoy a free glass of wine, live music and migle with cast, crew and creative team.
This event provides an exciting opportunity for audiences to support BeFrank’s unique work with the British Forces in Germany ahead of their planned return to the UK and to bridge the gap between different communities through theatre.
ABOUT THE SHOW
For four and half years the Wiltshire market town of Wootton Bassett stands still as the bodies of 355 dead military personnel are repatriated through its streets.
Andy, a middle-aged man, long ago distanced from his military childhood sets out to discover why this community performed these acts of remembrance, paying respect to dead strangers in this way. His journey takes him beyond the town and becomes one of self-discovery and reconciliation.
Combining verbatim testimony, autobiographical material, sound and projections, this play explores society’s relationship to the Armed Forces, father-son relationships, rites of passage and wars that have shaped our lives over generations.
